屋久島はヤク猿の出産シーズンに入っています。この日は一つの群れで２匹の赤ちゃんを確認できました（写真の赤ちゃんは生後一週間以内）。うち一匹はその日に生まれたようで、まだ母親にしがみつくことができず、移動するときは母親が片手で抱えながら歩いていました。西部地区は昨年の夏、台風１８号、１９号の暴風で潮風を受け、秋の果実（シイの実、ドングリ）に影響があったと思われます。猿は豊作（木の実）子沢山と言われており、今年は生まれてくる子供は少ないと予想されます。＝１６日、西部
